HCHS Boy's Tennis Lose to Shenandoah

The HCHS  boy’s tennis team travelled to Shenandoah on Thursday to take on the Mustangs and ended up losing the meet 2-7. The Cyclones are now 1-4 on the season. The Cyclones travel to St. Albert’s on Friday.

Coach Bruns’ Comments:


Our inexperience continued to show tonight playing against a very good Shenandoah team. The highlights were Brock’s win in singles and Brock and Mitchell’s win in doubles. 


Brock started a little slow again tonight but found his rhythm by game four or so and really played some great tennis the rest of the match. Mitchell and Brock also continue to play very well in doubles. They were up big and let Shenandoah get back in it half way through the match but then picked up their game at then end winning 10-4.


1. Brock Bruns won 10-4 over Reed Finnegan

2. Mitchell Rueschenberg lost 1-10 to Andrew Lawrence 

3. Stephen Leinen lost 2-10 to Josh Schuster

4. Tytan Frohlich lost 0-10 to Eli Schuster

5. Andrew Andersen lost 3-10 to Quentin Slater

6. Nolan Blum lost 1-10 to Dylan Gray


Doubles:


1.  Brock Bruns/Mitchell Rueschenburg won 10-4 over Reed Finnegan/Josh Schuster

2.  Stephen Leinen/Tytan Frohlich lost 3-10 to Andrew Lawrence/Eli Schuster

3.  Andrew Andersen/Nolan Blum lost 4-10 to Quentin Slater/Dylan Gray



JV lost 3-4 and are now 1-3 on the season.



JV Singles:


  1. Keyton Francis lost 5-7 to Landen Newquist
  2. Tegan  Steinkuehler lost 2-6 to Landen Newquist
  3. Eric Torneten lost 4-6 to Dominick Reynolds
  4. Edgar Mena won 6-1 over Isaiah Lamberson
  5. Brayton Cooper won 6-0 over Isaiah Lamberson


JV Doubles:


1. Keyton Francis/Tegan Steinkuehler lost 1-6 to Newquist/Reynolds

2. Eric Torneten/Edgar Mena won 7-6(7-5) over Newquist/Lamberson
