Q. What got you interested in collecting paint samples?
A. Well, other kids in 4th grade (when I started), would collect baseball cards or rocks, and I wanted to be unique so I collected paint samples. They don’t cost me money, and I only take around three each time I go to the store.
Q. How many paint samples do you have?
A.Roughly, around 538.
Q. What colors do you have?
A.Well, I have anywhere from: The lightest color (snowdrops) to the darkest color (black ink). I have mostly every color you could think of. The shades of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.
Q. How many do you hope to have when you are finished?
A.Hmm.. Michelle, my goal is to reach 1,000 first. Then I want to work up to every color they have at do it best.
Q. Where do you get all of your paint samples?
A.To name a few would be: Do It Best in Harlan, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and Hardware Hank.
Q.What do you plan to do with them?
A.If I do not become an elementary teacher, I want to be an interior designer. Interior Designers have MILLIONS of paint samples. I plan on decoration my house with lots of the colors I have in my collection. So if I become an interior designer, I already have lots of paint samples.
Q. Where do you keep them all?
A.I keep them all in a 2 stack tray downstaires in the basement. They are found by our paints, wrapping paper, bows, sacks, and odd and end crafts.
Q.Which one of your paint samples is your favorite?
A.My favorite one, thats a tough one, I have one in every color. The red shade would be Magenta (Hair Ribbion #47-6) Dark orange (Tiger Eye #203-6) Light yellow (Lucky Duck #47-11) Green (sour apple #46-5) Bright Blue (Posey Blue #44-16) Dark Purple (Nap Time #47-21) and off white (Bathtub White #47-12)
Q. Do you know anyone else who has a collection like this?
A.I really don’t know of anyone, but Cassie Allen used to collect them, and she might still.
