Last Sat. a great ( three bands of a hand-picked few) showed off their skills as they capped the Jazz season off. The first that played was the Harlan Jazz One. They played their contest set and, well, “made the fire alarm ring because they were so hot”. Next was the Harlan Jazz Ensemble. They played their contest set as well. Although it was only three songs, they were played to perfection. But they soon finshed their playing for the night. Last but not least was the Harlan Middle School Jazz. They played their contest songs as well. After this the dance took a brief intermission.
Then the Jazz One went crazy playing near non-stop for an hour with slow songs, upbeat songs, and many in-betweeners. Although the dance stopped at 11:00 PM, it was a great time if you enjoy good music and dancing like there is no tomorrow.
See you next year…Ben Pitkin
