Key Club Banquet

The Harlan Community High School Key Club had their annual banquet on Monday April 16th and it was great. I was able to get Mr. John Knicely, the lead anchorman of Channel 6 News in Omaha, to come and speak. He was a great speaker and used humor to deliver his message about the service work we do and how it is important for us to continue it. I had the opportunity to speak with him during dinner and he is very personable and easy to talk to. He graduated from Sidney, Nebraska and actually started out as a sports anchor. After he spoke we recognized all 44 members and ended the night by honoring Ms. Hagemeier. This is her last year as our sponsor. We each wrote down a memory or some way she has inspired us over the last few years and made a scrapbook. We presented this to her with flowers and thanked her for all she has done for us.
