The new sophmore treasurer

I had the chance to interview Malissa Andersen. She is the new sophomore treasurer. In this interview you will learn why she chose that spot, how many years she has been in student council, and so much more.

1. How many years have you been in Student Council?

-This year was my first year being in Student Council.

2. What made you want to join?

-I heard a lot of fun things about it and I just thought I would give it a try.

3. What kinds of things do you do in Student Council?

-We plan different school activites, raise money for organizations, clean the highway, organize the school’s homecoming, and a lot of other things.

4. Is this your first year running for treasurer, if not what did you do the years before?

-Yes, this was my first year running for treasurer, I was a class representative before.

5. Why did you choose to be treasurer?

-Well, I wanted to be an officer, but I also didn’t want a lot of responsibility so I thought treasurer would be perfect.

6. Why do you think you got voted in?

-Probably because hardly anyone else was running so people didn’t have much of a choice of who to vote for.

7. What do you have to do as the treasurer?

-Well, I don’t think I really have to do anything this year as treasurer, but in the future I would need to be in charge of the Student Council’s money.

8. What do you think will be the most challenging part of being the treasurer?

-Probably making sure I know what I’m doing and I do it right.

9.Do you plan to stay in Student Council all through high school?

-Yes, I am planning on it.

10. If so, what spots do you think you will try for in the future?

-If I have a good time being treasurer then I think I will stick with that.

11. What is the best part about being in Student Council?

-Planning homecoming is a lot of fun, and we get out of school that day to decorate.
