School Mural
This is McDaniel7 and Gabby7 for HCHS Newsblog. As all of you know, Mr. Renkly and a few selected students have created a 70 foot mural of a cyclone in the gymnasium. The cyclone was thought up by Mr. Renkly along with all of the others you see around campus. The people who helped work on it were some of Mr. Renkly's studio lab students and some other students with a knack for that sort of thing. In the mural, a red cyclone seems to be breaking through the brick wall above the bleachers and looking into the gym. We interviewed Mr. Renkly and asked for his thoughts on this project and this is what he had to say..
Q: Why were you chosen to do the mural in the gym?
A: I wasn't exactly chosen. Every year we do one large project around the school. For example, the paintings you see in the cafeteria and in the weight room were done by my students and I.
Q: How did you decide who were all going to help you?
A: Really anyone that I think have alot of talent for this kind of thing or are in my studio lab.
Q: When do you think you guys will finish?
A: We started last Monday so we hope to be done by Thanksgiving break.
Q: Do you plan on doing anything similar to this mural in the future?
A: I've got nothing planned yet. The sign boards in the parking lots might be our next semesters project.
Q: Do you have anything else to add?
A: When you do a large scale project like this it brings several disciplines like science and math to it. The students learn quite alot from the experience.
Well there you have it. Good job to everyone who put in their time and effort into the cyclone mural. It looks fantastic and we are looking forward to future projects. This has been Gabby7 and McDaniel7 for HCHS Newsblog. Good Job
