Preview For Girls Track Season

We interviewed Hosack and a couple girls, Shelby and Kaitlyn in track asking them what they expected from this upcoming season and what they were hoping to accomplish. Here is what they thought.

Q. How excited are you for track to start?
H. Very excited. I think we're going to be very good. The girls attitudes are good, and i'm excited to see the talent we have.
Q. What are you hoping for this season?
H. Don't really try to win indoor, it's an experimental stage and to see where we're at, to qualify for Drake, win every meet (have three years in a row), win conference, and shoot to be the best.
Q. What are your main priorities you wish to accomplish?
H. Daily convince the girls that if you work hard great things will happen and make the girls better people and make them great citzens.
Q. Are you hoping to break any records?
H. Yes we always do, the records are tough but i think we could get two or three.
Q. What relay is your strong point?
H. It's to early to tell, but the shuttle is always strong, i also think we would be good in long distance and basically every relay but the medley.
Q. How hard are you pushing your girls?
H. Not near as hard as we did ten years ago, but the girls push themselves and we are there to help push them, but if they are hurt we do baby them and want them to get better.
Q. Do you think that the under classmen will step up and pull through?
H. We have sixteen so we hope so, well they are used to racing the same thing in every track meet, but we are going to put them out of their comfort zone and spread them out.
Q. Do you enjoy coaching?
H. If you don't enjoy it you shouldn't be doing it, I do enjoy it but i work with the best.

Q. What's your favorite part about track?
S. Ditzy moments, like when i fell off an excerise ball and hit a chair, and when Schmidt ran into a mailbox.
K. Shot and discus.
Q. What are you looking forward to?
S. Pushing myself to be the best.
K. The track meets, they are fun to watch.
Q. What do you expect out of this season?
S. To be way better then i was two years ago.
K. I think we are going to do really good, well the varstiy.
