Mr. Bruns' Policy on the ITED's
The point of the ITED's is to measure how good our school is at acedemics compared to other schools. Although students don't think it, it is vital for our school to do well on these tests because they could effect the teachers jobs as well as our future. The Current World Issues (CWI) teacher, Mr. Bruns, decided to talk to our principal, Mr. Wagner, about making our ITED scores a part of our overall grade for his class. Mr. Wagner agreed. So, the "Mr. Bruns Policy" came into effect.
Mr. Bruns in hoping that, in the future, other teachers will start using his policy. "It encourages students to try harder, " he said, " I hope other teachers will use it to it's advantage." I interveiwed a student in Mr. Bruns' 2nd hour class and her comments were the following:
Do you like the ITED Policy?
No.
WHY?
because it's the iteds and it shouldn't count towards our grades and all it does is make the teachers look good.
Do you think other teachers will use it? No, most teachers aren't like Mr. Bruns...they aren't as technical
My opinion? yes, I do like the policy. I know when I had the social studies portion of the test my level of concern was up higher than normal. I think all teachers should use this policy because it can help students get better grades in this school because teachers will know what they need help with.
