1. The blog must be an original story. You must be the person who does the interviewing/investigation etc. It cannot be a story from CNN or other news source. That is what your individual blogs are for.
2. I am not putting a requirement on length. All I say is to give a good effort.
3. You must do one blog a week. You can work ahead and do two or even three in one week.
4. Each blog entry will be worth 30 points.
5. You can earn up to five bonus points if your story has video or audio included. You will need to a digital audio recorder or digital camcorder to do this.
6. At least one picture is required for each blog entry. A digital camera is a must!
7. Examples of stories: interview our two new principles, interview our new superintendent, interiview Mr. Klinkefus about retiring, interview our Senators or Congressmen about a specific issue via email, pay attention to news within the community and try to interview the people involved, give a op-ed rant on a specific controversial topic, get the exclusive pre-game or post-game interview with a sports/music/drama coach(you should not be a player on the team), interview players after the big game/concert, do a survey of the community or student body on an issue and publish the results.
8. Try to get an exclusive interview or story. Make sure when interviewing people you tell them who you are and that you intend to put their story online. Stories must be safe, legal and school appropriate.
9. My goal is to eventually make this the place to get school and community news first!!!
