Jazz Pep Assembly

On Monday April 14th, The Jazz band played a pep assembly for the school during the Prime Time period of the day. They played the set that they played at IJC (Iowa Jazz Championships). Not only did they qualify for the competition but completed the year with an undefeated season. In the past, their biggest rival was Independence Iowa. Unfortunately they were having a bad year and were struggling. IJC is set up in two rounds. Everyone who qualifies for IJC plays in the morning/afternoon. The awards are set up in the evening and they announce who makes it to the next round. The bands who make it get the chance to play again shortly after the first round awards and then have awards again. Harlan Jazz Experience was thrilled to find out they had not only qualified for the second round, but won. Pella took second followed by Independence A. Other competitors in the 3A competition include Storm Lake, Ceterville, Winterset, Williamsburg, and Independance B. (in order from top to bottom on the results sheet). Congratulations to the Harlan Jazz Experience for their hard word and great results.
