Boy's State Tennis Results

Cody Petersen played in the Boy's State Tennis Tournament in Waterloo, IA for the second consecutive year on Friday, May 23. Unfortunately, the results were the same for Cody, losing in the first round and then again in the first round of the consolation bracket.

"Cody was ready this year for State after really struggling there last year," Coach Chad Bruns said. "Even though Cody lost both matches today, he played very well, especially in his first match against Kris Baglais(South Tama-foreign exchange student from Latvia) who was the #3 seed." "Cody struggled a bit more in the second match against Michael McGonegle(Norwalk) but definitely had his chances to win in both the first and second sets." "Cody lost some very close games that were the difference in the match.

"I am very proud of how Cody played today. He has had a great career at HCHS playing varsity all four years and making it to State twice. The team and I will miss him a lot next year.
