Wednesday morning during primetime, Harlan high held a assembly called Project Seven. Students entered to find a large setup of movie screens and sound equipment, which provided a little anticipation for what was to follow. After and introduction from Mr. Wagner, one of several speakers with the group walked out and began to joke around. Within a few minutes, he had several of the teachers up in front of the students dancing the Thriller, among other dance moves. It would be and understatement to say it was entertaining. That little antic got the students interested and was succeeded by a motivational presentation. From there, another Project Seven speaker stood up and began to talk about decisions in high school. He spoke of the bad decisions he made and how it impacted him later in life. It was very interesting. From there, the group presented two more movies, one about a young girl, Lauren, who did a funraiser to send shoes to children in South Africa, and the other about a young autistic boy, and his basketball dreams. They were both very inspiring movies. About this time, the assembly was over and we all returned to class. This was a very well done and inspiring assembly.
