HCHS Cross Country Update

The Cyclone Cross Country season is off to a satisfying start. The Cyclone boys and girls kicked off their season at the Glenwood invite this past Tuesday. The race was dedicated to Frank Rueschenberg (2008 grad. Jill Rueschenberg's father) because of some serious health problems he had been having. Frank had a brain aneurysm and was very close to dying. Luckily, the team made Frank proud. The JV Cyclone Girls came in with a perfect score. They had six girls finish in the top ten, five of them the first five in over all. The Varsity Girls had six of their seven runners finish in the top ten and ended up winning the meet. The JV boys did good as well with their first runner in 13th. The Varsity Boys finished the best they ever have at the Glenwood meet with Nathan Brace in seventh and Alex Voge in eighth.

For their second meet of the season, the team traveled to Council Bluffs for the Abraham Lincoln Invite. It was wet, foggy, and humid, but the cyclones stuck it out. The JV girls again got a perfect score for their second of the season. The Varsity boys got fifth as a team, and the Varsity girls again won the meet.
