HCHS Boy's Tennis Defeat Audubon 9-0

KNOD Radio Report:

The HCHS Cyclones boy's tennis team improved to 5-1 on the season with a convincing 9-0 win over Audubon. "For the most part, everyone played very strong tennis today," Coach Chad Bruns said. "It was a varsity only meet today which allowed us time to play best two out of three sets. This is what we play at Districts so it is good experience for us to play these longer matches to see what kind of shape we are in," Bruns added.

Ryan Andersen had the the toughest singles match of the day scratching the second set out in a tie-break. "Ryan was down two set points in the second set tie-break, so it was great to see him step up and win that set to clinch the match," Bruns said. The only set that the Cyclones lost today was in the #2 doubles match. Mitch Gross and Nate Ohms won the first set easily(6-1) but had to really battle the rest of the way, winning the match in the third set super tie-break. 'After winning the first set so easily, Mitch and Nate let up a bit and let their opponents back in the match. They came through in the end and they deserve a lot of credit for not giving up," Bruns added.
