HCHS Boy's Tennis Defeat LC to Move to 4-1 on the Season

KNOD Radio Report:

The HCHS boy's tennis team improved their record to 4-1 on the season with a 7-2 victory over Lewis Central on Tuesday, April 14. The Cyclones played without #1 player Ryan Andersen tonight due to an injury.

Highlights of the match was the outstanding play of Nate Pattee in singles(8-0 win) and Mitch Gross and Nate Ohm's big comeback win in doubles(down 2-7).

"Nate Pattee continued to play very well in both singles and doubles. He had to play #2 singles tonight and really stepped up his game today," coach Chad Bruns said. "Mitch and Nate Ohms also had a huge win in doubles for us. They were down 2-7 and came back to win 9-7. Big comeback wins are always great and fun to watch but I would prefer tthem to stay a lot closer throughout the match from now on," Bruns commented.

"I have to give a lot of credit to a young LC team today(all sophomores). There were a lot of close matches that could have gone either way. The meet was definitely a lot closer than the 7-2 final score," Bruns added.
