HCHS Boy's Tennis Lose a Close One to Clarinda

The Cyclones boy's tennis team lost a close meet to the Clarinda Cardinals 4-5. The Cyclones and Cardinals were tied after the meet singles matches 3-3 and were able to win two of the three doubles matches. The Cyclones travel to Denison on Monday for the Hawkeye 10 tennis tournament and then host Kuemper Catholic on Friday.

Coach Bruns' Comments:

Even though we lost the meet, there were a lot of competitive matches which is what we want to see. We had our chances to win the meet but unfortunately we lost most of those close matches. Brock, Mitchell, and Stephen all won in singles and played well in doing so. It was great to see Stephen battle and pull out a hard fought win. He needed it for his confidence going forward. Brock and Mitchell continue to play great together in doubles, winning 10-3.
