As the quarter comes to a close, and all the sports end for the fall, there is one sport that DOMINATES them all. Cross Country. I was involved in xc my 7th and 8th grade year, but I decided to take this year off to focus on other things, like grades and all-state. This being my sister's senior year, I fallowed her as much as I could with her cross country. I envy her so much because she has improved a lot since her 8th grade year and she enjoys doing this. So, I decided to ask the coach, Mr. Renkly about the teams sucess this year.
Q-Have you seen anyone improve greatly from last year? We have had several huge improvments form last year- on Varsity alone we have seen tremendous gains from Allen Schwery, Nick Soll, Jenny Hosack, Megan Jacobsen, and Alysha Knudsen.
Q:What was the fastest time this year?
A: Girls- Jenny Hosack-15:28- 4k
Boys- Nathan Brace-15:50-5k
Q:Are you excited for 8th graders next year and maybe some high schoolers to join?
A:The program continues to grow and excitement for running is at an all time high! We have several 8th graders i feel will eventually help at the Varsity level. We are always recruting and suspect we will have even more boys and girls out next season.
Q:Will you miss any of the graduating seniors next year?
A: I will miss them all! They get to be like my own kids. No senior can ever be replaced- we can only build on the leadership they have provided over the years.
