Thursday May 8th was a day of excitement for three talented people. Thursday was the day of the First Annual Talent Show. Seven contestants tried out on the Monday before for a spot to preform at this special event. Judges chose three contestants they thought were the best. Those three contestants preformed on Thursday for the student body and the we were the judges. The Lucky three were Cory Jeter, Chandra Knudsen, and the band Better. Each contestant had an outstanding performance.
The show started with a vocal performance by Chandra singing Time After Time. Cory was next performing a vocal piece accompanied by guitar entitled Is It True That I've Lost You?, a guitar piece entitled Pickin Corn, and another vocal piece entitled Hector Brown. Cory Was accompanied by A.R. Carbonell on guitar. The show was concluded with the performance by Better; a band consiting of Tyler Kloewer, Matt Richardson, Josh Gear, and Alex Kintner. The band preformed Red, White and Blue, and Are You Going to Be My Girl.
The winners were announced on Friday. Taking First Place and $50 was Cory Jeter. Second Place and winner of $25 was Chandra Knudsen. Third place and winners of $15 was the band Better. All three contestants did a wonderful job. A compliment goes out to all who tried out. It takes a lot of courage to even try out. The school hopes to have just as good if not a better turn out next year. They encourage all to audition.
Respectfully Submitted,
