Halfway Home And The Hawkeyes Look Strong by Michael Stein

Over the past few years the Iowa football team has had its ups and downs. They've produced suprising Cinderella seasons and major disappointments. This year the boys have played well and are a Big Ten best 6-0 with a lofty 11 rank in the polls. A second straight year with a victory over a then top 5 Penn State squad. The Hawkeyes can thank a number of players for their success. QB Ricky Stanzi has shown major improvement in his decision making and freshman Tailback Brenden Wehger has stepped up. Many Harlan citizens may remember Wehger thrashing the Cyclone defense in his days at Sioux City Heelan. This year Wehger has continued his dominance especially over teams with mascots of the tornatic persuation as he racked up over a hundred yards in one half against Iowa State. Next on the slate for The Hawks is Wisconsin fresh off their first loss of the season, a game at the horseshoe against juggernaut Ohio State. My opinion is Iowa will have to play at their very best to move on to 7-0. The Badgers have a potent offense and will give the Hawks all they can handle. Good luck boys I will be pulling for you.
