HCHS Boy's Tennis Defeat Lewis Central 5-4

The HCHS boy's tennis team got their second win of the season with a tight 5-4 victory over Lewis Central on Tuesday, April 10.

Wow! What a meet and win today!," Coach Chad Bruns said. "This meet had some great matches! Nate and Nick continued playing solid in singles getting wins at #1 and #2. Riley played a two hour match today and got a huge win for us at #3 singles. He was down 7-9 and came back to win 11-9. I am very proud of Riley's play today!

The match of the day was at #6 singles where Keenan Finn faced two match points but came back to win 11-10(9-7). "This was a great win for Keenan today," Coach Bruns said. "He fell behind 0-3 but really turned it around and just battled to get the hard-fought victory.'

In doubles, HCHS lost two out of three matches. The lone victory came at #1 doubles. "Riley and Nick played an excellent doubles match today, Coach Bruns added. "They knew that they needed to win the match for us to win the meet and they really stepped up by winning the last four games of the match to win 10-5."


The HCHS Varsity team is now 2-2 for the season.
