2014 HCHS Boy's Tennis Season Opens With Loss to Abe Lincoln

The Harlan Community boy's traveled to Abe Lincoln in Council Bluffs on Tuesday, April 1 to open the 2014 tennis season. The meet ended with a 3-6 loss to the Lynx. "I was pleased with how we competed with A.L. today" Coach Chad Bruns said. "A.L. is very well coached and always has a strong team. I was very pleased with Josh Buman's and Gabe Ferry's win today in singles as well as Josh and Isaac Stitz's victory in doubles. I also thought that even though Isaac Stitz, Jordan Good and Derek Leinen lost in singles, they hit well and had their chances in a lot of close games that ended up not going their way. As a team, we need to serve and hit more consistently. If we can improve in those areas, close games and matches will start going our way."

The Cyclones were without #1 player Trey Lansman who was out with an injury. "We hope to have Trey back soon as he bring a lot of leadership and positivity to the team," Bruns added. The Cyclones travel to St. Albert's on Monday, April 7th and host Thomas Jefferson on Tuesday, April 8th.
