HCHS Boy's Tennis Come Up Short at Red Oak

The HCHS boy's tennis team traveled to Red Oak on Thursday, May 7 and lost to the Tigers 3-6. The meet was played indoors at the Red Oak YMCA due to rain.

Isaac Stitz and Alec Plagman combined for all three wins for the Cyclones today winning their singles matches as well as winning at #2 doubles. "I thought Isaac played his best tennis of the year today," Coach Chad Bruns said. "He played relaxed in both matches and just looked like he was having fun out there today. I hope I see this from Isaac the rest of the season as he tends to put a lot of pressure on himself."

"As far as Alec, he just finds a way to win," Bruns added. "He was down 3-6 today but battled back to win another match in a tiebreaker." Alex finished the year with an 8-2 singles record.

The Cyclones finished the regular season with a 2-8 record. The Hawkeye Ten Conference tournament is on Monday, May 11 hosted by Lewis Central with District Tennis to follow on Thursday, May 14 in Carroll.
