HCHS Boy's Tennis Team Defeats Red Oak 5-4

The HCHS boy's tennis team hosted the Red Oak Tigers on Thursday, May 5th and won the meet 5-4. The Cyclones finished the regular season at 8-4.

"Today's meet with Red Oak was a great win for us," Coach Chad Bruns said. "This meet was a battle that came down to the doubles matches and our guys stepped up and won two out of  three. Red Oak is traditionally always one of the best teams in the conference so it's always special to get a win over them. I have to say that I am very proud of all of the guys and how much they have improved since last year. This is one of the better teams we have had in my twenty years of coaching tennis here. They are a great group of guys. We hope to carry our momentum into the Hawkeye 10 and District tournaments next week."

The Hawkeye 10 Conference Tournament is on Monday, May 9th at Red Oak and the District Tournament is on Thursday, May 12th. at Carroll.
