HCHS Boy's Tennis Defeats Thomas Jefferson

The Cyclones boy's tennis team improved to 1-1 for the year with a 5-4 victory over Thomas Jefferson of Council Bluffs.

"Overall, we played much better tonight and squeaked out a victory," Coach Chad Bruns said. "Everyone won at least one match tonight which is great for everyone's confidence going forward. Nate Ohms and Nick Petsche continued to play solid in singles. Riley Finn also played a great single's match today. I was very happy to see Trey Lansman, Alex Schaben and Keenan Finn get wins today as well."


Varsity Singles:

1. Nate Ohms defeated Nolan Dix 10-5
2. Nick Petsche defeated Brian Collison 10-5
3. Riley Finn defeated Kyle Hall 10-3
4. Trey Lansman lost to Alex Sallak 3-10
5. Alex Schaben lost to Austin Belt 3-10
6. Keenan Finn lost to Colton Jensen 2-10

Varsity Doubles:

1. Petsche/R. Finn lost to Dix/Collison 6-8(Defaulted)
2. Ohms/Lansman defeated Hall/Belt 10-0
3. Schaben/K. Finn defeated Sallak/Jensen 10-5


JV won 6-1

JV Singles:

1. Austin Euchner defeated Brandon Brown 8-2
2. Jordan Good defeated Clayton Starner 8-6
3. Matt Stessman defeated Zach Dahlheimer 8-0
4. Josh Buman defeated Steven Ruby 8-6
5. Joey Hanson lost to Brandon Brown 6-8


JV Doubles:

1. Euchner/Good defeated Brown/Starner 8-0
2. Wingert/Burris defeated Dahlheimer 8-4
