HCHS Boy's Tennis Defeats Atlantic 5-4

The Harlan Community boy's tennis team traveled to Atlantic on Monday, April 28th and won a tough, hard fought meet 5-4. The meet was originally scheduled to be played in Harlan but was moved to Atlantic due to rain in Harlan.

"I am very proud of the team today," Coach Chad Bruns said. "Everyone battled and played good tennis. Isaac, Gabe and Derek continued to play very well in their singles getting big wins for us. We have come so far from last year and it feels good that we are starting to see the hard work pay off."

The meet was tied 3-3 after singles so the Cyclones needed to win two out of three doubles matches to win the meet . They did just that winning a tough fought match at #1 doubles and winning easily at #3 doubles. "Trey and Keenan played an outstanding doubles match after both of them lost in singles," Bruns added. That is not easy to do as it is easy to be frustrated after losing in singles. I was very happy to see them pull off the win 8-6."
